August 2024 Visa Bulletin

  • Publish Date: Posted 2 months ago

The Visa Bulletin for August 2024 has been released by the U.S. Department of State, providing international registered nurses and medical technologists with information regarding their United States immigration journey. Below, you’ll find our analysis of the current status of the EB-3 visa that grants a Green Card for nurses and medical technologists, and what this may mean for your future career in the USA.

Visa Bulletin Priority Dates

  • EB-3 for Other Nationalities (01DEC21) – no movement

  • EB-3 for the Philippines (01DEC21) – no movement

  • EB-3 for India (22OCT12) – will advance by one month

  • EB-3 for China (01SEP20) – no movement

No movement in August for Philippines and Other Nationalities

There’s good news with no further retrogression on Priority Dates for the majority of nationalities. India has advanced by one month. However, the Visa Bulletin for August does come with an advisory note that further retrogression may be necessary in September – or that the EB-3 visa category may be switched to ‘Unavailable’ at that time. This is due to the high demand for EB-3 visas.

If further retrogression occurs or EB-3 visas are made unavailable we may see positive progress at the start of the new USA fiscal year, which starts on October 1, 2024.
